My silence kept me alone.

I remained invisible to everyone around me.

My thoughts stayed closed off to the world.

No one understood who I could be.

Slowly but surely I grew.

My words started to be heard more.

I still had a long way to go,

But slowly, surely I began to soar.

Don't care what others think anyway.

No one can ever take that away.

Keep your eyes on the horizon.

Look forward to bigger and better things.

Trust in your heart and don't look back.

Open your mind and spread your wings.

My thoughts are alive.

My heart seems to know

That even though I am still holding back

I shouldn't be afraid to let it go.

I still hide behind curtains.

Some thoughts will remain my own.
