The Left Turn

I seemed to have stepped foot in the wrong direction
That put me on the wrong path.

The world lights me on fire,
I would put it out.

The sun loses it's light,
I found light in Jesus.

The heart of others struggle,
I acted on theirs above my own.

The darkness seeps inside,
I broke light through the cracks.

The temptations surround me,
I broke past them.

What direction on my path
Caused me to turn left instead of right?

At what point made me turn around
Back to the shadows I escaped from?

I've been searching for a shortcut in the woods
To get back in the right direction,
But there is no shortcut
As this is how I got here.
