Leaving for College

Location

Mommy, please don't cry for me

I'll be back before you know it.

If I want to scream and cry and fuss,

I promise I won't show it.

Leaving for college is hard, I know.

The emptiness of my room heavy,

But I know you're strong and smart and brave,

and you'll get through this--slow and steady.

Don't look at this as a sadness,

But an opportunity at best,

Because when I return with homework whining

It'll be like I never left!
