KISS ME AGAIN JUDAS

I am drowning in tribulations yet I laugh.
I laugh at you, I laugh at me.
I laugh at all of us whose lives are tough.
He watches us with much glee,
Seeing how he fooled us once more.

What kind of stupid does he think we are?
Because he must think we are daft.
Blindly, we give him power over our lives,
At the promise of what?
Money? Employment?
Why do we give Judas power over our lives?

I have to say, I am tired.
I am tired of all the lies,
The deceit of jobs, a better life,
I am tired of all the strife,
Oh, how the betrayal kills me!

I was promised a job, yet I am jobless.
Where is the better road you guaranteed us?
Look at these women; hungry…
How can they feed their toddlers from their withered breasts?
The pain in their sunken eyes; how can you ignore that?

They voted for you.
They trusted you!
But in return you approached them at night,
Kissed them and sold them out to the enemy.
What do you stand to gain from their death?

Judas, Judas, oh Judas!
I know I will see you again in five years.
You will lie to me again and I will vote for you; again.
You will kiss me again Judas, of that I’m sure.
You will sell me out again to my enemies; again.

That’s why I laugh at my stupidity.
I permitted Judas to shower me with kisses.
I allowed him to leave me jobless,
Leave our old mothers and fathers hungry.
I allowed Judas to kiss me again by voting for him; again.
