Jules / Courage

Jules doesn’t drink the end of milk.

The last pint in a quart carton

holds unseen dangers.

Why put herself at risk when

she could just throw the milk

away?

Better to proceed with caution here:

she hoards bravery and uses it

to save her life instead.

It’s all right to pour the milk

down the sink

when she wrestles dragons

and goes spelunking for precious stones

and rides a Brontosaur

across the prehistoric plains of Texas.
