Judging Eyes
Location
She says, "let me breathe, let me be
Why can’t you just let me be me?
Stop dictating my choices
And understand why they’re made.”
You look at her with judging eyes
When you yourself are criticized
Although she knows she’s not perfect
She doesn’t degrade you
She looks inside herself, hoping to see
The beauty she sees in you, but it’s not in her destiny
She’ll never be you
And you constantly prove it
You look at her with judging eyes
When you yourself are criticized
Although she knows she’s not perfect
She doesn’t degrade you
She’s tired and afraid, she tries so hard
But never rewarded, she’s always been scarred
From this life she’s been living
And she thinks maybe, its not worth it
Just another day, just one more day
Nothing new, nothing to make her stay
She’s wanted out for so long
But always had that one last hope
That last hope that you broke
Like ripping off a band aid without letting it soak
She’ll hope you’re happy
She’ll hope you see. That
You looked at her with judging eyes
When you yourself should have been criticized
She knew she wasn’t perfect
And yet you still degraded her
She was a girl with a happy smile
For anyone she would have went the extra mile
Instead she’s gone, singing a new song
Hoping you”ll see the beauty she saw.
The beauty of the people, the kindness of their souls
She saw the best, when she should have saw holes
She wanted to see from everyone's perspective
Maybe now in the clouds she can
HIgh above things cities bring
Flying on an eagles wing
The sweetest soul we’ll ever know
Finally now where she's always wanted to go.
I wrote this poem because suicide and depression is a very important issue for me, and I think it;s something that needs to be spoken about and that people need to be more aware of. People need to learn how to handle and deal with people who are depressed and suicidal. This poem was made to help people understand, and realize that these are serious issues and we need to be eduacted on them.
