People have always told me:
High school will be hard.
High School will be
The worst
Times of your life.
You will be beaten to the ground
And pushed so low that you will Forget
who you were before, but--
They don't know anything.

People say,
That the first day of school;
Your first day of kindergarten
Is the brightest day of a child's Life.
I'll tell you, that was a lie,
For me.

I tried to change.
I wanted to fit in with the girls
But they kept
pushing me,
down.
I might as well have been
A girl called
It

The minute I walked
In that door,
The girls were with
Other girls
The boys were with
Other boys
And I was with
No one.

I tried to change.
I wanted to fit in
With the girls
But they kept
pushing me,
down.
I might as well
have been
a girl called
It.

I should have
learned then
That the world
Is just too big for
A dreamer.
The mental scars
Are just too much to
Endure
For a little girl
Who begins to
Believe
Everything that
People tell her.

I had tried to change.
I had wanted to fit in
With the girls
But they had kept
pushing me,
down.
I might as well
have been
a girl called
It

Do you know what it is like
To feel like you are
Nothing
To this world?
I could have disappeared
And no one
Would have cared.
I went from the girl
Who was bright
Who smiled
Who laughed,
To a girl
Who never spoke
A word
To anyone.

I had tried to change.
I had wanted to fit in
With the girls
But they had kept
pushing me,
down.
I might as well
have been
a girl called
It

I was distrusting
I was silent
But a boy stepped
Into my circles in the sand
To hold my hand
And give me a smile.
He told me that I was worth
Knowing.

I had tried to change.
I had wanted to fit in
With the girls
But they had kept
pushing me,
down.
I might as well
have been
a girl called
It

The boy gave me friends
He introduced
The tomboy girl
To worlds of cowboys
And adventure.

I had once tried to change
And the girls had kept
Pushing me down
And I might has well have been
A girl called
It.

Now I am confident.
Now I am a flower
That has blossomed
Into a young
Woman
Who is both a
Tomboy and
A girl with
Quirks
Who has good Friends
That know
I am
Unique.
