Intervene

She’s submerged in the depths of depression,

But deception is her specialty.

Yet, someone has seen through her walls.

They have seen the hurt she conceals.

She walks down the halls with a smile on her face,

But still he is not fooled.

He turns his head in a direction of comfort as she silently drifts by,

Convinced that if he doesn’t acknowledge it he can pretend it isn’t there.

What are you doing?

You’re a teacher,

A guidance to an adolescent life.

Lead her to a path of recovery, restoration.

Intervene.

Do something besides wait for the final wisps of life to fade from her soul.

Address the problem at hand.

Don’t ignore what you know to be true,

For it could be the end of a girl who only needed help from someone who knew.
