In"spiration"

4 miles away

I felt the oxygen leave your lungs

I heard you beg for oxygen while you laid on the cracked pavement

One shot was all it took for them to shatter my mentality

Lights surrounding your name

We glorify you as our hero

6 more months and graduation would have arrived

Lord knows I would have loved to see you dance on the stage

And now, you're no longer with us

You dance in the clouds, looking down at us with a heavenly smile

And here I am, attempting to succeed

It's hard for me to breathe, but I'm trying

You are my "in"spiration

This poem is about:
Me
My family
