Inside Our World

Location

Life insists too much upon us

to take a second glance;

a second look.

We go through shutting everything out

and never realize what we could have;

what other people took.

We live in a world where nothing hurts

because we shun our pain

In return we gain nothing;

we reap nothing,

and do nothing to recover from the strain.

We make ourselves up as we go along

every sentence, every belief;

every word.

We never stop to think

someday we might be heard.

Our contradiction is within ourselves

and exists only there.

We have nothing to give their world,

nothing to care for;

nothing to share.
