Innocence

The innocence and naivety of youth

Before you come to realize the dismal truth

That everything is dying before your eyes

And that the government does nothing but denies

As an innocent you see the world through rose colored glasses

Not realizing that the politicians don’t care about the murder of the masses

That xenophobia continues to increase

Species of plants and animals continue to cease

We enter wars blindly, with nobody wanting our assistance

And kill all those who pose resistance

The innocence of the world is quickly dissipating

Our protests against the tyranny is quickly abating

The laissez-faire and trickle down has demolished our society

With degrading others as our top priority

The innocence of youth completely faded

Leaves you feeling nothing but jaded.
