Inner Beauty

Trying to view yourself

through the lenses of others

leaves you confused.

All you see are blurred images

distorted in their mind's eye.

And that light that you see inside yourself?

Its beauty becomes:

marred, twisted, awkward.

They do not see you the way you see yourself,

the closest most inner corners of your heart

where your inner beauty lies

remains a private thing.
