Impoverished Kid
Location
Cold nights
Long days
Outbursts
Fights
Uncountable tears
Status quoes
Authority figures as foes
Unacceptance
Numerous ununderstandable fears
But I guess that’s just the plate you’re passed
I guess thats just the cards you’re delt
I guess it’s just the role you play
Tears that wash the night away
Tears that merge into day
Turns your sunshine into gray
But I guess that’s just the role you play
A sad song never heard
A crushed spirit
Visions blurred
But I guess that’s just the cost
Another soul is lost
I guess that’s just the burden you must carry
I guess it’s just the road you must tarry
I guess it’s just the pain you must feel
I guess it’s just the scar that won’t heal
I guess that’s just the struggle you must go through
the troubles that engulfs you,
the riches that will spurn you.
Watch out or they will burn you
But I guess that’s just the life,
The life you have to live
when you grow up an impoverished kid.
But that is just the life
the life you have to live,
when you’re nothing more than an impoverished kid.
Honestly, I would not change poverty. I don't truelly think anyone could if they tried. Their are even religions were the end goal is to have no earthly posessions, thus being impoverished. However, I would change greed. The greed that allows someone to afford a multi-million dollar house with a multi-million dollar gate around it to keep the unwashed masses away. Meanwhile children are dying of hunger only a few miles away. That is what I would change.
