I'm Starving!

I sit on big plastic cushion
With my elbows on the table
And my phone out
With the tortuous smell
And sounds of a sizzling hot plate
At the table next to me
I scroll past a post
With the picture of a child
With big eyes and a bulging belly
Scrawny arms and twig legs
Who would seem even smaller
In this now seemingly more uncomfortable seat
I feel a pang of guilt
When my mother says
"I'm starving!"
