If I Never Cared

I ponder how my life would be

If I never cared.

My friends may not be there for me,

Though friends I may not have.

If I never cared,

I could not make new memories.

"What is done is done," they say,

Lost chances hold discoveries.

If I never cared, you say?

Well, I'd be letting people down,

And failing my supporters.

That's no way to reach for a crown.

If I never cared...

I'd have wasted my potential.

I'd have no chance to do things.

My life would have little impact.

That's why I wake up and greet the day.

I have friends I need to support.

I have adventures to seek out!

I have tasks I must complete.

And to improve, to live to the fullest.

I greet the day, not because our sun has risen,

...But because I'm on the world's best journey

Called life.
