If I can only save ONE....
If I Can Only Save ONE...
54 million and more..
Tiny hearts STOPPED.
No chance, no voice, no choice
Lungs that never learned to breathe, lips that never learned to speak.
You were our heroes of tomorrow. Our teachers and presidents, our ones who would finally cure cancer and stop AIDS.
You were a story yet unwritten, a life yet unlived.
She didn't know what to do-about you. She was so afraid. Afraid of the stares and glares the whispering and wondering...
She didn't know you were more than a
Surprise. Mistake. Accident.
She didn't know you were
Human. Formed by the fingers of God. Alive.
They told her you were only a ball of cells, nameless tissue, faceless FACT.
She bought the Lie.
Beating heart stopped. Breath stifled. Life GONE.
Blank Pages. Dramas, comedies, romances. Begun but never finished.
Your nameless father missed-bedtime stories, bubble baths, tiny fingerprints on windows looking out into a world ready to receive you with:
Muddy puddles and bugs
And ice cream.
She never got to feel your tiny fingers wrapped around hers. Your downy head never got to rest on her shoulder.
She never got to tell you why the sky is blue or
where the sun hides in the day
how birds fly
Do the angels know? Or do you have to ask God?
Do you ever touch His hands?
They made you, they formed you, they hold you:
Little sunbeam, that never shown, little seed never sown.
You are a treasure, a Dream.
I wish you could have Lived. And breathed. And laughed. And snuggled.
There were arms that would have held you, lips that would have kissed you.
Two hands to hold yours in the dark.
They lost their dream or could not have one
You could have been the Answer
to their prayers.
I am so SORRY. I wish that I could turn back time and change the law that started this Great
HOLOCAUST.
We fight for free choice, rights and voice and give you none.
They save the trees and pop cans
Cherish environment and forget that trees need climbers.
And swings and forts.
And pop bottles need
Thirsty little lips.
And the world needs children to teach us to hope and dream and believe in
God and
The way
The truth
And the LIFE.
Let me be your voice to a world that is
Deaf
Your eyes to a world that has gone
Blind.
Your pulse to
Hearts that have grown cold...or never knew the truth about you, precious
Unborn Baby.

I believe that, the poem is eloquent and inspired. I wish that people who were pro-choice, would stop for a moment to realize that the rest of us see millions of legalized murders commited because of convenience. I pray abrtion is outlawed someday. May God bless you.

I don't agree with abortion, but I also dont agree with "outlawing it." If you want America to be "free" you have to accept freedoms you don't neccesarily agree with. It's something we must all do. And I loved the words of your poem, and I agree that abortion is a terrible thing, don't get me wrong- but what if you were raped by your father at 9 years old? Would abortion be okay then? What if you got pregnate and it was going to kill you AND the baby? Would abortion be okay then? I think pro-life people have good arguments and bad ones. I agree people should not get abortions "just because" a baby is not convient. I do think that should be illegal somehow, but you cant say that every abortion is a terrible sin God would smite a woman for, because you never know what could have happened.

Convenience..? So when my good friend's mother had to give-up her child whom would have been born extremely handicapped, and could have killed the mother, that was for "convenience"..? Until you're in the position, how dare you bastardize the people in a postion you've yet/will possibly never have to experience.
The only people "bashing" pro-choice, pro-do what is right for you'ers, are mostly women. In an age where ignorance isn't bliss, you'd think women would be the ones to be pro-choice supporters. This is so beyond discouraging to see, especially coming from my fellow women.
The poem is great, writing was unique, but to those whom are quick to play the "God card"..
"Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?"
Our Father knows in our hearts what we deem necessary. Abortion is sometimes the answer, and to come to that conclusion of "convenience", once more, is a direct-assumption. To go about having sex without proper avoidance methods is in fact idiocy in intself, unless planned. With that being said, I don't believe in those whom deem abortion after abortion, "because it's my right", as ethical. Those situations are morally wrong, and the doctor performing the procedures time and time again on this type of patient should have the right to say "no". But why generalize all whom have this procedure? That, my friend, IS wrong.

Good day Christians. This is for those of you who have even a slightly open mind.
I want to lay some logic down for you so you can better improve your pro-life arguments.
So this is going to involve some simple if then logic, nothing fancy.
If God exists (which we will assume for the sake of argument, we will also assume the bible is true)
Then He is almighty and has the power to do anything he so desires.
Then if God hated abortion, he would do what he did to those who have previously angered him and cause frogs to rain down from the sky (poor frogs), or infect those guilty with plague. Or kill them in some way.
Since for some off reason this hasn't happened, we can then say that God does not care about abortion, at least not enough to do anything about it (himself). Seeing as God locked a lion's jaw just to save Daniel, yet does nothing for all the dead babies it appears he really doesn't want them alive.
Furthermore, if god has a plan for everyone and everything, as most American christians believe.
Then if a baby is aborted, it was god's plan for that baby to be aborted. Think about it he's all knowing and all powerful, thus if something he didn't like was going to happen, he wouldn't let it happen.
Even this post, by that logic, would not have happened unless he wanted it to.
I don't believe such thing, however as you can see using god as the cornerstone of your argument takes away from your argument, because if he cared so much it wouldn't happen.
In the future refrain from this and you will find yourself winning more debates instead of being mocked. It is much more compelling to focus on the pathos that the murder of a child brings, than trying to appeal to ethos by saying that's what god wants. That might work at your church, but to someone who is pro-life (especially if they are atheist) it will fall through the cracks and you will lose. By focusing on the emotional tragedy rather than religion you appeal to a much larger audience.
I'm not trying to be judgmental or ridicule your religion, I'm fine with religious people. The only thing I am ridiculing is how you approached your argument. I would call it constructive criticism if anything. I am by no means a genius, just well versed in detecting inconsistencies in logic.
Sorry if I offended you, and I wish you the best.
