America the Free,

Right?

 

If we’re so great,

 

Why am I scared

Of the shackles of student loans?

 

If we’re so free,

 

Why are there girls

Forced to sell sex at truck stops?

 

If we’re so great,

 

Why are there rapists

Walking around with no record?

 

Theft, murder, hatred, scandal,

It all happens and we turn a blind eye.

We all buy new clothes, talk about the game,

And move on with our lives.

 

Is this what made America great?

Is this what made us free?

America was never great.
