Icarus: The Angel on Fire
All the moon knows how to do is consume,
And reflection was never enough for me
Hubris- is a dangerous thing.
I was 17 when we first kissed,
And I tasted lighter fluid on your tongue.
My father called me his star,
But he forgot stars are just fire.
Kissing gods is a fool's game of ambrosia roulette
It will consume you,
It consumed me
But Apollo does not care.
God of Light knows no darkness,
Until the God of Light let me slip into the sea
My father wept,
But the Mountain moves for no mortal.
At least I shined,
Like a star.
