i wear a smile each day,

so bright it could light the world on fire.

litle do they know that my smile

radiates all of the light that ever was inside of me,

leaving me with darkness to fill my insides.

hidden in the darkness,

are my insecurities,

always lurking, haunting.

however, no one will ever know

because they are not curious enough

to look behind my smile.
