I Thought

4.24.16

Pretty girl in a dress walking by the pool.

I watched him as his eyes watched

her every move.

Invisible I felt, for the one I loved was

admiring another.

He took boh my hands and comforted

me with,

"I just thought I knew her."

Almost a year gone past, he said,

"I need you to trust me."

Seven days apart, I trusted he used

his time wisely.

But disappointed I felt, for the one I loved had

heart eyes for another.

He paused.

He stared.

He squinted.

He pursed his lips before saying,

"I thought I knew her."

...

You fed me sick and twisted lies one too many times and somewhere down the line someone will ask me about you and I'll simply tell them,

"I thought I knew him."
