I haven't yet met her

I lost myself in the sky
I found a smile passing by
I missed a moment I should've seen
But that's how I've always been

My mind wandered away from me
And when it came back I couldn't see
The mind I'd lost a while back
It had grown somewhere along its track

I was glad when I saw it mature
I was happy to see a brighter future
I love to see myself become better
My favorite me? I haven't yet met her

So I twist and shout and sing
To know there is a better thing
Buried in my too small mind
That, someday, I will find
