I Fell In Love With Her

I fell in love with the way she discarded half of the world but cared for the other half

I fell in love with her cold hands and the shivers they sent through my body

I fell in love with her gentle laugh and her dark jokes

With the way she pretended to be okay but inside her there was a storm

I fell in love with her insecurities and her doubts

And the way she pushed others away without feeling proud

I fell in love with her cruel truth like others fall in love with beautiful lies

I fell in love with her exquisite lips and deep brown eyes

I fell in love with the way she made me feel at home

Not just four walls and a door

I fell in love with her like the moon loves the sun

And the fish love the sea

And the lungs love the air that allows them to breathe

I fell in love with her like the skin loves to be felt

And the heart loves to be cared

Because after falling for her, it all made sense

I fell in love with her

That was the start, not the end
