I Am A Woman

Location

When I walk down the street

I deserve to be seen

Not as an object or positioned at the feet

From unruly people whose thoughts are obscene

She should not dress based upon what the other species wants

I will not conform to the rules

However with the risk of recieving taunts

Pushed down and forced to be miniscule

The whole culture is wrong

Giving one the right to rule over another

The time is up, it's been too long

For without her, there is no mother

My identity should not be based on the threads

But on the internal intellect

Because the personality is in my head

And so has become my project

I am not here to appease another

My mission is not war, but change

But we can only do it together

I know it's hard, but I'll take it as a challenge
