I Am The Monster
I feel its presence
Tying a noose around my neck
From my gut flooding my lungs
It slithers down my throat, makes me gasp for air
Affecting me even to the ends of my hair.
My eyes: start to boil over and swell
Like seeping water from a wooden well
Fighting the monster back
That’s trying to hack
My aching heart; I’m dodging him like a dart.
But still it is consuming me.
Swallowing me whole
The more I try and contain it
The harder it pushes to fight
Crushing
And flushing me out
Pushing me off my feet
And than it happens, the single tear falls from my face,
Following with a salty waterfall.
