I Am

I am a silent soldier, yet a dreamer.

I wonder if there really are alternate universes somewhere out there.

I hear the world rushing around me, and never bothering to slow.

I see anger and pain in many faces.

I want things that can sometimes never be obtained.

I am a silent  soldier, yet a dreamer.

I pretend that I live in a perfect world,

when I know very well that it’s not.

I feel I can’t forgive myself for the things that I have done.

I touch darkness and I feel it’s sting,

yet the light still engulfs me in it’s warmth and love.

I worry the chance will slip right through my fingers.

I cry because I feel it’s my fault.

I am a silent soldier, yet a dreamer.
