Humanity, I love you
Humanity, I love you
for you bring me
to my knees.
You've taught me to
be patient, kind,
but also
how to breath.
When I started
working with
people who
have nothing and
in conditions
no one bears to think,
I found myself
inspired by the
way that people
can rise again
after they sink.
Through my quest
to help others regain
some stability
along the fight
for further rights,
I have seen a resilience
in people that
has made me see
that after a
descent into
darkness
there is
In fact a light.
This poem is about:
Me
My family
My community
My country
Our world
