How?

You told her, “You can do it all!”
So she tried to climb a mountain
But she couldn’t afford a harness
So she went to sell lemonade
But you said, “Aim higher!”
So she went to sell wooden knickknacks
But you said, “You need a permit.”
So she went to the building and waited for days
But you saw her and said, “Too young”
So she went back to the mountain.
The mountain:
You said to climb every mountain
But you couldn’t bother to give her a harness?
She then sought me in the mirror of time
I stared back at her; looking at my past
And I gave her my harness I had sewn myself
Then she climbed the mountain
And you were at the top
Asking, “How did you get up here?”
She responded, “How did you?”
You fell silent.
