How?

How do you tell a 5 year old someone's gone?

How do you tell a 5 year old their best friend left?

How do you tell a 5 year old a role model has disappeared?

How do you tell a 5 year old a loved one is dead?

Stop crying they said

Stop hurting they told me

Stop worrying they yelled

How am I too young to not understand?

How do you tell a 5th grader someone's gone?

How do you tell a 5th grader their classmate has left?

How do you tell a 5th grader this happens sometimes?

How do you tell a 5th grader his uncle shot him in the head?

A death has happened before they said

You lived through it then they told me

But he was only a kid I yelled

How can I now trust my own family?

How do you tell a 6th grader someone's gone?

How do you tell a 6th grader their mother's grandfather has left?

How do you tell a 6th grader about why their mother is crying?

How do you tell a 6th grader I wish you knew him better?

Keep it down they said

Your mother is in the next room they told me

Don't you cry too loud they yelled

But how could I not when my mother is hurting?

How do you tell a senior someone's gone?

How do you tell a senior it has happened agian?

How do you tell a senior their deaths were a week apart?

How do you tell a senior you'll have to learn to deal with it?

This is life they said

It could happen to you they told me

I'm still not prepared for this I yelled

How do I keep living when everyone around me is falling?
