Home of the Brave

Does the banner still wave?
Over the land of the free?
Over the home of the brave?
It's waving for me, tattered as may be.

America is great
As it is free, and quite good
Althought some people may hate
That for so long it has stood

A symbol of freedom
A marker of peace
It is a beacon of a new world for some
Like the image of the statue of liberty's

A sign for the damaged
The beaten and the damned
No matter your age
Or the reason you left your homeland.

Some things can be mended
Like the way we treat our brothers
But we can assure our country's blended
And greater than any others

This poem is about:
My country
