Holiday Season

Still waters run deep
Through the sweeping vast gully
Where undulating clouds
Leave stains of great rain

Winds swing west
While mother collects blackberries
Although the snow is near
We’ll hunker here
Along this chiseled cliff

Till we pitch the garland
Around the tree
When Christmas time comes
I’ll rest here
Waiting for that special day
