Hide and Seek

I saw her, standing there

She looked lost, lonely, and scared

She didn’t like to be around people

So she hid where no one could see her

But I did, I saw her

No matter where she ran I seemed to find her

It felt unusual and quite frightening

I could feel her fear and her chest tightening

She did something wrong, something unforgiveable

She ran going nowhere, it was unpredictable

She tripped over a pile of debris

She hurt herself and began to scream

I went to go help her and

Suddenly she stopped

I stepped back and

She stood up

She was gonna run

I told her “no”

I walked towards her as

She tried not to open her eyes

Because I can’t seem to hide from me
