The end of time is reassuringly complete

I expected sadness

But instead felt reassuring completeness

Everyone else escaped backwards

Into an elaborate game of hide and seek

Before they hit the end

They traveled backwards

To relive the same moments

Over and over again

They fulfilled a dull cycle

They made the same stupid mistakes

Fell in love with the same dull people

Cried over the same mundane things

They were attempting to hide from the end

From the inevitable

But the end has a way of finding us all

I breathed the nothingness in

It felt like so much

I was there at the end

And could see the entire, faultless line

I peered backwards

My timeline zigged and zagged

And zooped

But it always ended
