Hermes on the subway

Life wails through out the city

Shimmering women walk to parties

Buisness men stumble home

Smokers reach their train platforms

Kids scurry into their late trains

Locals look at their phones and their laps

Bright eyed tourists are watching

Graffiti flicker by as the lights

of the car kick on and off

A man stands and strolls among them

Steady as a sailor during a riotous storm

He slips past a slumping doctor,

Students, and others

The train shudders and stops

Slight Hermes steps out

As long as the city and

the people in them breath

So does he
