Here and Gone

Of all the many seasons,

fall is my favorite one;

It's magical and etheral

but never overdone.

Fall whispers possiblities,

trees manifest equisite shades;

It almost seems a different world

when autumn takes the stage.

Cascading leaves dance in the breeze,

a familiar crunch beneath my feet.

Beckoning tire swings and dappled sunlight

are difficult to beat.

Fall hints of winter's coming

then just as it appeared,

it vanishes at once...

though we were so endeared.

Yet that's part of fall's great splendor--

it's here, and then it's gone--

"God knew what he was doing,"

on me it finally dawned.
