Hear Me
Blackout, fall down, find the wall.
Knockout, lights on.
Can you hear me?
Dropout, fallout, lost and found.
Time’s up, lights off.
Can you hear me?
Reach out, count down, confuse me.
Game’s up, give up.
You will not refuse me.
I write because
words are my expression of pain.
I write because
though my voice is small
in words I am not voiceless.
Poetry is the voice of pain,
And pain rejects silence.
Stand out, burst out, find the will.
Lights up, mic up.
You can hear me now.
