Halls of Hell

Location

The 21st century- a time of technology and innovation

But what good is this with unhappy people around the nation?

Body image and mind are sparesely accepted

Nobody wants to feel rejected

"Homosexuality is a sin!"

"You are only beautiful if you are thin."

"Mental illness? Is this a joke?"

The walls are caving in; I might just choke.

High school is a drag- hormonal teens ready to explode

With bearing the weight of this gargantuan load

We are Atlas- you know that guy

The one who held the Earth on his shoulders, stuck in the sky

And that is how we feel- heavy and hollow

So we feign the appearance to seem perfect and shallow

That is not how I want the world to be

I want it to be true, to be beautiful, to be free.
