Growing Up

Nothing moves as fast as time,

As just yesterday I was a little kid.

6th grade I was quiet as a mime;

Now made it through 12th without a lid.

Personalities can go through a certain range,

But mine went through a full transformation.

Breaking out of my shell was my biggest change,

And starting running made me sort of a sensation.

That quiet, scared, shy little boy,

Has become a man in the blink of an eye.

I am most proud that I gave others  joy;

Even though now I am forced to tell them bye.

Because anyone can reach new heights,

As long as they realize they can take flight.
