The Gray, The White, and The Grey

Sun, 03/01/2015 - 23:09 -- ArtKid

Gray business doesn't seem to matter,
but gray matter seems to be everyone's business.
         The goal was written before
         you were born, they say,
the objective was decided, they say,
         through lucky science,
         there was no deciding factor,
no choice they say.

But they say there is a choice
that you could choose to conform,
good little, boringly normal child that you are,
or ignore the white to become,
to be gray.

And you choose the grey
each and every time
because there is no choice for you
and there is no gray
and there is no grey,
but there is hope and hope and
hope for a time when there won't be a white or a grey,
for a someday without a truth or a fake,
but only a mirror, just a mirror,
reflecting who you are, who you want to be.
