Graduation

When I was a freshman, everybody told me "four years would go by quick"

And there I was three years later as a senior deciding on which college to pick

Sitting at graduation, I remember the wise words I was once told three years ago

How they said my high school days would go by fast when they felt so slow

As a freshman, I wasn't thinking about the future because I thought I had time to buy

As I walked across the stage, I transferred from a child to a woman in the blink of an eye

I then realized that those years did in fact fly

And in August I'll be hugging my family goodbye

I'll be starting my new chapter in life at college away from my household

Graduating is supposed to be exciting, yet it made me feel so old

While everybody else is celebrating and raising their cup

Graduation is a moment that made me realize I am all grown up
