Gospel Lullaby by Daisha Stafford

Chorus:

There was a saying

My mother told me

She said take you time

And see who you’ll be

And if your dreams don’t come easily

Trust in God

And you will succeed

Verse1:

I hold tightly

To her soliloquy

And let the words

Lullaby be to my dreams

I breathe easy

Because I believe

 In the power of God

The almighty.

He’s tattooed in my heart

So I know its real

I fall back in his hands

He said peace be still

He is my only God

My only savior

 My Holy father

In him  my life is greater.

Chorus:

There was a saying

My mother told me

She said take you time

And see who you’ll be

And if your dreams don’t come easily

Trust in God

And you will succeed

There was a saying

That stuck with me

Trust in God

And always believe

And one day we will all see

God in all his pure glory

Verse 2:

 He is my healer

My protector

No one above him

There is nobody greater

He shields me

From all my enemies

And when the storms come

He is my covering

And when the wind gets strong

And the storm is long

He is my shelter

My Holy grail, my helper

When I trusted in him

My life began

To turn around and I could breathe again

Chorus:

There was a saying

My mother told me

She said take you time

And see who you’ll be

And if your dreams don’t come easily

Trust in God

And you will succeed

There was a saying

That stuck with me

Trust in God

And always believe

And one day we will all see

God in all his pure glory
