The Giver

When you were alone, I gave you my companionship

When you were tired, I gave you my rest

When you were in pain, I gave you my comfort

When you were lost, I gave you my home

When you were in darkness, I gave you my light

But now here am I; lacking companionship and rest, comfort, home and light

And I look at you and walk away

For you are rich and cannot be seen with me,

The Giver
