Girl Made of Glass

Location

A reflecting heart, clear and glassy

Churning and enchanting

It is a shell that protects the living emotion

Desires to fears mix and mesh

Though sometimes dropped, it’s never been broken

It longs to rest in a velvet lined case

Sheltered from harm and looked on with grace

Guarded with honor built upon trust

If it were ice, would it melt?

Prized for its best, blossomed by fate

If it were diamond, would it sparkle?

It resonates a warming glow

Holds itself and can stand alone

Pure and elusive, this heart is my own
