Get a Room

What light lives inside you?

A message, like a neck I might graze,

Harder than cider to the tip of my tongue,

Skin terracotta, and glance just as glazed,

Beads of sweat silhouette against,

Eyes like two embers that swallow me whole.

Hair with the texture of young raven’s feathers,

Softer than sheepskin and the color of coal.

What goodness howls out,

Into the abyss, together we made?

Hands clasped like a locket, alone but beside me,

God damn, it’s been forever since I last got laid.
