funeral's memory

everybody wearing black

a color that represents grief

cries that leads to the question why?

was it that soon that your time was up

you were only 13

you transform to a teenager

although you thought you were grown

but you didn't knew the 1st steps to be an adult

you are now in a place

where you are facing up

with your eyes close

never again, will it open up to another day

all you can hear is disbelief

family and friends

kissing on your forehead

rubbing their hands against your cold face

saying their last minute prayers

in remembrance of who you are

that question is an understatement

who are you

what happen to you

who told you that it's cool to cut school

who told you that tagging on walls was fun

people lied to you when they say

let's cause havoc in the streets

what you fail to realize is that the streets don't love you back

by the time you figure that out

all you remember was bullet that went straigh to your head

and look now

your fond memories lies in a casket

in a funeral where screams of discontent rages on

Tears are running down my face. A 13 year old who had so much ahead of them lost it all in a flash because they gave their life to the streets. I can't even grasp the thought that like that for just making one bad decision someone who lasted only 13 years in this world is now gone. It is kind of a wake up call for me. I need to get my head on straight and fast. Thank you for that epiphany. Keep writing on my friend.
