Frozen and Forsaken
The warmest form of simple loneliness,
Noticed when you do seek but none are found,
Those distant drops in temperature that bless
The ones who see companionship abound.
A shift from warm summer to chilled Winter,
Liquid freezes into solid, She says
Goodbye to my dear friend, and takes with Her
My old and wounded soul in autumn days.
How stiff one can become when deep frostbite
Fills helpless hearts quite close to brim with fear
That, isolated in the frozen night,
They will be caught with endless ice e’re near.
Forlorn bodies can hide with expertise
How icy souls can burn to such degrees.
