Freedom of the People

We wait for what never comes

We listen for what is never said

We see politicians hold up their thumbs

But so many soldiers are dead

We hear the cries of the families

They mourn the lost with memories

How can we really be happy

When our lives are only so free?

I may be just a young man

But I know we must be damned

If not for hate, then bloodshed

Because many killed and many are dead

But this is America

A few must die for many to live

This is America

In order to take we must give

But did they mean to give lives?

We welcome any chance that arrives

To take another man's rights

America, the home where a real man fights...
