The day I turned 16,

I got on my knees, I prayed

To pass my drivers test,

And complete the plans I'd made


I wanted to be a man,

no longer under mom's thumb.

I wanted to drive by myself,

But what if I was too dumb?


"I got to pass"

I was screaming inside.

I don't want to stay home

I don't want to beg for a ride.


And then the voice declared

"Number 22, it's your turn!"

And I got in the car to drive

And my licesne I did earn.
