Freedom

People say this is a free country
I have to disagree
When a girl is told what she can and cannot wear
That is not freedom
When a boy is limited to ideals of masculinity
That us not freedom
When you are told who you are
From the day you are born
That is not freedom
There shall be freedom here
When a girl can wear whatever she wants
Without 'asking for it'
When her body belongs only to her
When a boy can act on his own personality
Without being condemned
When his mind is his own
This country will truly be free
When others learn that they
Are not property
That they have no hold or say over them
Then there will be freedom
And we will be free
