Forgotten

Everyday as I turn

the corner on 134th street

I see a vast of people

rugged clothing

right next to me

children, men, and

women too

These individuals are not

so different from

you and I

They live their lives

with limitations everyday

struggling to feed their kids

and themselves by the

end of the day

In search of a

warm place to stay

They run to the

nearest shelter

to avoid the rain

Turned away

they sleep their

night on the cold

ground pavement

to their dismay

They are the

homeless of society

But to you and I

they are just individuals

struggling to survive
