The Fire

I don't want to be the fire burning gold and dancing through your veins,

I want to be the match that sparks it;

the moment you see the graying smoke entrap the air

and feel the searing heat licking at your skin.

Hear the crackles like a devilish laughter

echoing, consuming

until you know there will be nothing left at all.
